New Zealand (S.I.) Poultry, Pigeon & Cage Bird Association (Inc.)

United Pigeon Fanciers Association

The United Pigeon Fanciers Association was formed in 1912 under the name "United Pigeon Fanciers Club"

In 1991 the name changed to the Fancy Pigeon Association NZ Inc. The name was again changed in 2000 to the present name of United Pigeon Fanciers
Association (Inc) NZ.
The aim of the UPFA still remains the same as it always has been, that is "To Promote the keeping of, Breeding and exhibition of Fancy Pigeons in New Zealand"

The UPFA is a New Zealand wide club with members on both the North and South Islands. There is also a junior membership available to young enthusiasts' so that they can enjoy the enjoyable hobby of breeding and showing of Pigeons.

In  2012 the Centennial of the UPFA(formally the UPFC and FPA) was held and a very successful show was held in conjunction with the Christchurch Poultry, Bantam & Pigeon
Club's annual show held  22nd & 23rd June. The International Modena Club held their first
Show in the South Island. This was very well attended with exhibitors coming from the North Island to show their birds. The judge was Mr David Lewis from Australia. The Modenas were judged usung the American Judging system and this was very well received by the Exhibitors. The other judges  were Mr A Makin and Mr F Hayes also from Australia.
The Best Pigeon at the Cenennial show was Mr A.J.Bull with a  CLLF Tumbler.
